Rest interval important

While many reviewers suggest that a rest interval between the heavy strength set and the lighter power set can be as short as 60 seconds (Janz et al 2008, Mihalik et al 2008), several studies point to a longer rest period being important for a true potentiation effect (Gullich & Schmidtbleicher 1996, Comyns et al 2007). Thus, periods between 3 and 10 minutes may be required for some players if a true potentiation effect is to be attained.
