Choice reaction

In this case there are two elements – ability to recognise the signal and then to select the correct and immediate response. Choice reaction time is determined by the interval of time that elapses between being aware of several possible signals and the selection of the proper response selection. Depending on the number of choices of signals, the perception time will increase and the subsequent reaction time will be slower. The Rugby player faces this type reaction on a constant basis during games. That is why the experienced player becomes better at anticipating the signals. Examples are when a player is opposed by two players. The opponents have the ball and the player defending has to choose in a split second which one to tackle – a choice.
