Corrective exercise strategies



To describe a number of corrective stretches that can be used to assist players improve tight muscle groups.


The S&C coach will be able to select a range of active static stretches to improve ROM.

Key terms

Active static stretching:

The player actively holds the stretched position without assistance.

Zero tension:

This is where no obvious tension is being noted in the target muscle group by the player.

First awareness:

This is where the player eases into a slight stretch in the target muscle.
