Screening the lunge pattern

Summary

The forward lunge is one of the common and fundamental movement patterns. It is a parent movement pattern and has similar mechanics to many running and movement patterns found in field and court sports and athletic events. Before loading the lunge pattern, it is recommended to screen the forward lunge pattern with a view to coaching a more normal pattern such that the player may be better conditioned for more progressive resistance training when using this pattern as a training exercise.
